OK, I made a thread about the games that we want, so now I am making a thread about the applications.
This thread is for those who want to state what kind of applications they would like to see on the GP2X, what they should do exactly and why would they be usefull.
Bear in mind that the GP2X doesn't a loadfull of buttons so...
Anyway, here are the application that I would like to see on the GP2X:
A Flash Player -Mobiles have one, so I don't see why the GP2X can't have one as well. The application should allow direct playback of SWF files.
An Antivirus- I don't know whether GP2X needs it or not, but you can't be too carefull, right?
A Powerpoint Viewer - I already know that a PDF and Word viewer is on the works, but I personally think that a Powerpoint viewer would be much more usefull. Imaging being able to do presentations by using just your GP2X!
A Lexicon - All mobile devices, even the GBA has their own version of certain lexicon so a GP2X lexicon is a good idea. Another good idea would be to allow people to create their own versions by adding medical or scientific terms.
A Java or Symbian Platform/Emulator - Since there are plenty of Java and Symbian games out there, I thought it would be a nice idea to create a program that allows you to play them.
OK lets let our imaginations loose people...

-support for SD/wifi cards - dude...its the INTERNET!!! from your GP2X!!! i feel that some sort of connectivity is lacking from this console...
-sega saturn emulator - because that console kicked @$$, even though i never had one...
-linux or windows...some sort - that would really open the gate for more applications and such...
-direct .vob support - to play dvd thingys that you rip without having to go through the trouble of converting anything!
- direct .rm support - so...you can play .rm files on there without having to go through the tedious chore of CONVERSION!!!
-maplestory for gp2x - that game is sooo addicting...and rocks...but first youd need to be able to connect to the internet...
-C compiler of somesort...hey it might come in handy someday!
