Squidge has posted news of the progress of his PCEngine emulator for GP2X:

Made some small performance improvements. Used the 2x’s hardware blitter for copying data, and optimized the graphics routines. On the part of R-Type that I test against, these combined gives an improvement of ~15 fps. This means 60 fps instead of 45.
