Simple questions really, Im waiting for my GP2X to arrive and now beginning to worry about possible things that could go wrong, so..

If I put a blank SD card in a GP2X and turn it on will it try to start to update the firmware?

What is uboot and does it update when you do a firmaware update, if not why not?

Can you run Amiga Workbench 3?

And Finally, can I hook up a external usb harddrive to the console to upload files or use as extra storage?

thanks

First you'll need to format the card with FAT32 and, in order to upgrade the firmware, put the firmware files on the empty card according to the directions...
check www.gp2x.com for more info and the firmware update (although any new units should have 2.0.0)

Uboot... dunno enough about it to discuss.

Info on the Amiga emulator is here http://www.gp2x.de/cgi-bin/cfiles.cgi?0,0,0,0,5,1215

As for the USB... to connect external devices you would need a Breakout out Box (BOB) which adds audio/video out, powered USB ports, JTAG, serial, and video out.
