EDIT: Well, after much reading i see that all my questions were answered elsewhere, except for one thing:

There are conflicting statements about WiFi. Some sites claim the GP2x will get WiFi in the future, some say not. which ones is true?

There is no Wifi built in but you can attach one (USB dongle) via the USB host (in various ways) and a minor modification in the firmware.

Some have already and have shown it working.
