Team Ninja has reportedly the first ever Wii modchip up their sleeves. The 5 wire modification will play Wii and GC backups of the SAME region, and is expected to retail for around 35 euro's. As you can see from the pictures below, its a simple looking mod and should be easy to install.

Also, In my opinion, I don't think we should be posting news about Wii modchips, until they enable homebrew.
