[Does XGP, XGP mini have the future ?]

Hi. I have not got yet my gp, but i want it. Unfortunatly, GP2x have some important for me disadvantages:
1) Cap - must be replaced immediately when u receive device
2) Cpu - enough for nes emulation but not for psx1 3) Size - too big. Best size for me - like a Gameboy micro. I have saw news on engadget, that shows new XGP, XGP mini and XGP kids devices. They had announced at mar 2k7. And i thought that XGP mini is ideal for me. But its still has absent. I have read articles at wiki. It's tolds that Gamepark has filed for bankruptcy. At youtube i saw many video XGP & XGP mini devices. I am don't believe that XGP has dead. Can anyone tell his opinion of future for this devices ? Ps. Pls. forgive me for my english.

1) GamePark Holdings - doughter of :
2) GamePark.
GamePark Holdings is making gp. Gamepark declared bankruptcy. Maybe we still have chance to see it ;) ?

GPH spilt completely from GP. Both companies are owned by one higher up company.

1. No it doesn't. All later models (since about a year ago) have the new cap.

2. CPU means little. What is missing is a dedicated GPU and a FPU. However, it can emulate the PS1 to a reasonable degree given the limitations.

3. Having something that small raises the price and limits the technology. If you thought the GP2X was not powerful enough for your needs then something the size of a GBA micro is not going to help. The XGP mini is less powerful then the GP2X.

4. They have no future. The market that GP was aiming for before they declared bankruptcy is the same as the DS and PSP. There was no chance they would have survived in that market.

5. The youtube videos were done before GP filed for bankruptcy.

Thanks a lot for reply. I thought that XGP Mini will have the same ArmV4 main logical processor as GP2X, but video processor will be replaced with VRender 3D wich is more powerfull. Anyway, i suppose that marketing managers are made right step. But otoh, they can sell his project to reach buisnessman, who can make big money on it.

The XGP mini is NOT the same specification as the XGP. The mini version does not have VRender chip. It also has less ram and CPU power (single core) then the GP2X.

Hmm.. I could be wrong. I don't ever remember that the mini was spec'ed with a 3D accelerator of any kind but it seems like it was at one point or other. However, it does have the one core compared to GP2X's 2.
