whasts it like playing snes & genesis?

i mainly want one to play those two, maybe some gba too but see i am wondering what is it like, i right now have a psp and it was a pain at first but i got snes working on that but its not like using znes in windows at all, so im wondering what is it like on the gp2x?
do u just set it up and is there a GUI? can any linux based emu work? do any windows based work?
is there a list of systems that work?

No, you can't just use any PC emulator, you have to use ones specially designed or adapted for the GP2x.
Most machines that came out before the SNES all run at great speed and work well. The Sega Genesis emulation is probably one of the GP2x's finest features with full speed and sound and Sega CD support included.
SNES is very playable with full speed and sound but at a higher clock speed than most emulators require. Some SNES games do not work - mainly ones that use special chips in the ROM cartridge such the Super FX chip used in Super Mario RPG and Star Fox.

in last relselse of Pocketsnes V6.4 it adde support for 1 of the Super FX chips Cx4(Megaman X2 and Megaman X3 ):cool:
