I'm pretty sure the gp2x has better MAME emulation than the PSP, the rest the PSP can do fine.
I've played a mates gp2x plenty of times, and while the 'openness' of the system is nice, the PSP's screen is a lot nicer (as the gp2x owner always comments) and you have the option of playing the occasional commercial game if you want.
Just my 2c.

Each of these consoles has very good emulators for these systems. If I were you I'd buy a GP2X F200 since it's open-source and I think everyone should support open source.
GP2X has a lot of good emulators and homebrew games.

If you can already run emulators on your PSP then it is probably not worth getting a GP2x as it is not giving you very much that you don't already have.
If you can't run emulators on your PSP then the GP2x is an excellent and reasonably priced solution for emulating the machines you list.

i have a question
i am looking to buy a gp2x and will be using it for emulators primarily and a couple movies and songs here and there
should i get a gp2x or a psp ?
i have a feeling that sp2x will be better for that but i am unsure
RAWKFIST: I'd wait for the pandora (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pandora_(console)). :)

i actually now see that it is more expensive ($330) but i think it might be worth saving up:-)
Yeah, costs more but it's looking like it will be a fantastic portable for homebrew.
Pay more, get more :)

Yeah:)
but i think i will wait for it to come out and see what people think about it
and i will also wait for the new update for the iphone and ipod touch a see what that is like
The iphone is nice but without that 3rd party joypad/buttons add-on, the lack of real controls really sucks. A touch screen just isnt the same.
Always a good idea to wait a while and see what issues others have with a new device/major program. :)

yeah
i'm a little skeptical about how game play will be on even only slightly complex games.
do you know if you will be able to play all the games and emulators made for the GP2X on the Pandora? or will there need to be totally new games and emulators for it?

Most of the games and emulators for the GP2X hopefully should only need minor tweaks to get running on the Pandora. Some may need more work if had some hardware specific code.
