I just got a dreamcast and played it fine for about 30 min then all the sudden the remote goes dead how can i fix this?

I tried buying a new remote and still the same

and when i start the system it says control not inserted into slot a or finding vmu

It probably means that your controller ports have gone bad. I don't know what to tell you, except to try taking it back to where you got it.
