Please, tell me about your NEO4ALL/AES tests.
I'll be glad to test this one until my eyes bleed, but I'm having trouble creating the .aes files. Please see my post under "NEO4ALL/AES alpha released."

Forget neocd.bin and others, you need 'ng-lo.rom', 'ng-sfix.rom' and 'sfix.sfx' files of typical neogeo.zip (MAME or others) and a new 'aes-bios.bin' file, image file of NEOGEO home console bios.Quote:

can anyone help me with this problem plz?? i'm not really on the mood to download the rom file again :\
TNX in advance :)
if this is gonna make any useful sense, the reports should contain
a list of the rom crc32s before 'convesion' with the tool
or alternatively
the source emu of the roms (no not a link) but things like is it a standard current MAME set or one ment for 'another' emu.
and it should be put towards a dat for Romcenter and/or ClrMame
(there is a distinct lack of dats in the DC emulation sphere imo.)
Tried with "Snk Vs capcom chaos", convert it without problems to svcplus.aes, when i launch the emu on my dreamcast, it launch fine, i load the rom, there's a long loading and in the end, the emulator's music stop and nothing append, it stay on the loading screen with the "loading bar" full.
Is this a neogeo bios problem or a bad rom problem? ^^
Thanx you ^^
It is very strange, GFX have checksum error, try to load your 'svcchaos.aes' with NEO4ALL/AES emulator for Windows included.Quote:

I don't know what happen, i just try this ROM and hangs now, sorry. But i have played yesterday without problems, there are a stupid bug. I will try to patch this today.
REPEAT: By the way, try to load your AES with NEO4ALL/AES for Windows first.
I didn't find the bios files required from the same emu, i find "sfix.sfx" and "aes-bios.bin" from a mame emu, "ng-lo.rom" and "ng-sfx.rom" from a neoragex emu, is this ok ? ^^'
I don't know it, Shikigami, try to use NEO4ALL/AES for Windows first.
About svcplus ROM bug, there are out of memory error, i don't understand it, but try to toast NEO4ALL/AES without neo4all/aes.mod, works ok.
chui... there's one more problem... the convertion tool doesn't leave me any AES file :\ so i can't EVEN test the ROM in the Windows version of the emu!! i don't even get to convert the ROM!Quote:

For a first alpha release it's impressive ^^
Each time a sound is played for the first time, the dc load so there's little "lags" even when u turn the sound off in the emu menu, and looks like there's some other little problems (can't choose my character on arcade mode or my opponent in training mode)
Great work !!! waiting for the next releases! ^^ (and the others prefetch :p )
Very good work, I hope there will be a guide for creating prefetch files and being sended to Chui.
Thanks a lot for NEO4ALL/AES.
Chui, eres un maestro ;)
I have compiled a compatibility list, based on my experience with this wonderful alpha, here it is (posted already at dcemulation forums), i hope it is of use to you and to the developers of this incredible emu. Two thumbs up!!
neo4all_aes-alpha 01 compatibility list
bigger games requires prefetchs.
Without prefetchs are unplayable.
OK, I opened the file "romrc" and see this readout for SVC Chaos:
game svcplus MVS "SNK vs Capcom - SVC Chaos"

Now, I see that in my svcplus.zip, all the roms are there but they're named 269-c1.rom, 269-c2.rom, etc. In theory, if I rename the roms in romrc to match what I have in my .zip file, that should work, correct? Also, if it helps, my svcplus.zip is 41,080 kb in size in the "details" viewing mode, and under the "properties" of this file, the readout is this:
Size 40.1 MB (42,065,015 bytes)
Size On Disk 40.1 MB (42,065,920 bytes)
I included this to compare with others to ensure I have the right file.
I've read here that SVC Chaos is having some problems, but then I see that Shikigami has got it working... I'll try smaller sets tonight after I get off work. Thanks for all the help so far.
everything about that was checked. and it's ok. it must work. i see another user saying that's OK! :\Quote:

aes-bios.bin - 128ko
ng-lo.rom - 64ko
ng-sfix.rom - 128ko
sfix.sfx - 128ko
Hope it will help you ;)
my aes-bios is the same file... :\ and the ROM zip and all the other bios are identic in size too! my rom came with the WinKawaks emulator... i had to rename the rom files to be detected by the converter... but it still doesn't work... :/
tnx for the help anyways...
Still: chui said that i had a checksum error in one of the roms?? wich one was??
maybe u can post the CRC32 checks of every file of the rom zip for me to compare ? :\ the rom that was converted plz! not the original.
I have a sea of problems.
1) the applicaction for windows, for test the emu, don't work me, when push the .exe appear only the borders of window, and crash. I have windows xp prof. service pack 2.
I have put alls the bios, but nothing
2) I have tried a rom of snk vs chaos of NEORAGE, but when start the conversion appear NO CORRECT ROM SET.
5) is a great problem find the rom correct, how rom version?
(MAME, NEBULA, KAWAKS, NEORAGE) ?
6) i wait next versions =\
7) THANK YOU CHUI AND ALL CODERS

ok, it really would be great if someone could post the CRC32 ZIP check of the sucessfull converted SNK vs Capcom ROM.
And what's the ERROR 10 anyway?
EDIT: I think i found my problem... Looks like my ROM it's the SNK vs Capcom Chaos ROM and NOT the PLUS Edition ROM. :\

ok, so I downloaded the ROM svcplus.zip and compared with mine (svcc.zip), and the other one I have have different p1 & m1 files.
so I renamed the plus ROM files, and tried to convert it again, and AGAIN I got this error / log:

I checked the other log and this one, and looks like the checksum on the CPU and SM1 got fixed:

Before: chksum=0x32A96B7A
Now: chksum=0x32A9639E
SM1

Now: chksum=0x608EC8
This was the only checksum errors that I think they're now fixed... but still: why does the converter still give me the ERROR 10 message?? :\
chui, can u plz check if still there are checksum errors? and help me with this error 10 thingy?? tnx in advance! :D
Hey, tried the emu (which is great work, thank you chui and all the other people involved for this and neo4all itself) this morning and when I had the correct rom and bios files tried converting romsets and burning it to test it.
I seem to be getting probs with some stuff noone else has reported. Using what as far as I know are standard mame rom sets I've tried Blazing star, Captain tomaday, neo bomerman, neo mr do, samurai showdown/spirits and waku waku 7. All apart from Captain tomaday, Neo Mr do and Samurai showdown have corrupted graphics from the main neogeo title screen on. I've tried them on the provided pc emu aswell and they do the same thing.
I realise several of these games aren't on the list of games said to have been tested, but I thogh I'd try a few different things and see what happens. Don't know if I'm the only one getting similar problems (the zipped romsets work in mame), or if its a known problem.
Anyroad, glad it works, thanks for the release, just curious why its behaving like this and if there's anything I can do about it.
this doesn't use mame roms, it's an AES (home system) emulator. the roms are much harder to find, because there are only a handfull of emulators for it and there is no reason to play it over MVS (it is basically the same system, without an rtc and easier difficulty settings).Quote:

- the BIOS graphics where corrupt, along with some of the game GFX as well, not to mention that the letters of the game menu, and everything else like life bar, power bar and any letter, don't appear. :\
- I can't select the character i wanna play with.
- some sound glitches... don't know if it's from the emu or from my PC slowdown...
OK, I see I have the wrong ng-lo.rom; mine's 128 kb.
OK, I got the correct bios files (according to Shikigami's list), and I unzipped the .rom files in my svcplus.zip and renamed them according to the romrc file and I still get the "no valid romset" error. This is maddening!! Where have I gone wrong?
I tried using some other roms such as Metal Slug X and I get that same error. Shikigami, did you have to rename anything to get your SVC Chaos to work?
The problem with the 'No valid romset' could simply be that the ZIP file you have contains a bunch of things, one of them being another zip with the romset in - this happened to me - check the contents of the zip, if one of the items inside is another zip (in directory 'roms' for example) try extracting that and use convertneo on it.
Also, I noticed that people are adding the neogeo bios files to the ZIP files they are trying to convert - this is not the way it works - you put the following 4 files into neo4all_aes-alpha\windows\convertneo\bios\
aes-bios.bin (131,072 bytes)
ng-lo.rom (65,536 bytes)
ng-sfix.rom (131,072 bytes)
sfix.sfx (131,072 bytes)
Now, CD to neo4all_aes-alpha\windows\convertneo and run:
convertneo <romset.zip>
(eg. convertneo C:\TEMP\SHOCKTRO.zip)
The aes file is written to the same directory as the original zip - in the example above, it would be C:\TEMP\shocktro.aes.
To test it on Windows, copy it to neo4all_aes-alpha\windows\roms, CD to
neo4all_aes-alpha\windows\emulator and run neo4all_aes.exe. Now, from the main menu choose 'Select ROM', go into 'roms' and select the aes file you just produced.
Finally, from the main menu select 'Run'...
I do all of that, Have correct neo roms etc but still get the message 'No found bios rom'
The neo rom is fine and it converts that but it then looks at my neo geo bios roms and it does not work.. These are the ones I use for Mame
Help!
Txs Fox & Chui for this emu ;)
-For the people
The most problem of convert roms is that roms are of MVS no AES!!!! Or have other CRC, please... found the ROM in AES or... wait for next versions because this version is a alpha.... ;)
Other problems... more people say... when i use the convert program i've the Bios error... this is for the same... you've bios of Neo Geo MVS! not AES! ;)
-For Chui, Fox and others developers of this N4A/AES
I test SVC and... GREAT! :D
Only I found a small problem and this night i prove it burn again the CD with Dummy file for this is the error. The problem that I say is that in the intro of SVC all time is loading the CD and the intro is stoping all the time and when I play is the same but..... when I eject CD in middle of fight.... no have this problem... the game is a fullspeed :D but when I do movements that i not do after this are see pixelateds. Only is say of the conclusion that without CD the game no is stoping all the time. "This is not critic... is only help in the develope of emu ;)"
Txs! ;)
PD.: Sorry for my english :P

I think that convertneo not support some encripter roms and today we need no-encripter roms.
About BIOS, it is easy, uncompress neogeo.zip from MAME on bios/ directory and find aes-bios.bin (128KBytes) and copy it too.
I will try have more filters and correct messages for next convertneo releases.
Thanks to everybody !
I have tried the games Blazestar and Pulstar (on windows and DC).
Both are unplayable because of heavy graphic troubles. In Pulstar neither Background nor sprites are drawn correct. In Pulstar I cannot even recognize the ships or the air route. But the fonts in both games are perfect.
(In Mame the roms are working)
Could the problem caused by my version of ng-lo.rom?
It's actually a 128 kbyte version. Because I couldnt find the 64k version I edited the file in a hex editor and deleted the last 64k. This should actually work. Somewhere I read the new 64 k version is just the same dump as the old 128k and the first 64k are identical.
The crc checksum for my edited ng-lo.rom is E09E253C.
Meanwhile I found the file 000-lo.lo. Assuming that must be the right file I renamed it to ng-lo.rom. The crc-checksum is also E09E253C. But the same happens with this aes in the emulator.
What could it be?
The problem is that each version of MAME uses different romsets, gneogeo depends on dat files, and nebula ususally depends on the newest mame definitions.Quote:

So far, I've tried Metal Slug X, Shock Troopers, and Art of Fighting.
No problems converting the first two games, but AoF gave me the "No valid romset found for source rom file" message. Didn't bother with it, and burned the two other games.
Metal slug X runs at good speed, but has some lang during the game while loading from the CD. Shock Troopers runs even better, with hardly any lag.
Great job!
