Microsoft’s new operating system Windows 9 could be shown off on September 30th for the first time, according to reports.
The preview version will apparently be shown at a press event on that date, where users will be able to try out the new OS.
This date follows recent reports from ZDNet, which claimed Microsoft would be holding an event towards the end of September or early October.
Images of the mini Start menu were also previously leaked, which developers will get the chance to try out.
The OS will allegedly also feature an early version of Siri-rival Cortana as well as several UI changes. An online distribution method is also said to be included, which will bind a license to a user’s individual PC and activate once they connect to the Microsoft Store.
It is still not clear whether Windows 9 will be known as Windows 9. However, rumours suggest it has been dubbed Windows Threshold.
Once the OS has been finalised, it is expected to launch during April 2015.
