Default Virtua Fighter And Tekken For Psp?

Although the PSP has enjoyed more than its fair share of quality titles since it's launch (insert appropriate number depending on country of residence) months ago, the fat-screened uber-device is still lacking that must-have, unit-shifting killer app.

While frenzied Sony fans sit on their hands to stop their arms flailing wildly in excitement over the imminent release of GTA: Liberty City Stories, our slightly more hardcore sensibilities yearn for some traditional fighter action. Kicking fifty shades of the proverbial plop out of a digitally-enhanced opponent has to be better than using the PSP as a bulky, posh-faced MP3 player, right?

Well, according to Jap mag Game Labo (note lack of "gaming bible" pre-fix, please), Sega and Namco are currently hard at work bringing both the Virtua Fighter and Tekken franchises to Sony's handheld. While our initial investigation into the rumours landed us with nothing more than the usual "no comment", we'd like to point out that that's still not a "no". So, will VF and Tekken grace the PSP in ways wi-fi has never imagined?

It's not certain, but it'd be a big boost to the PSP in a genre it's currently lacking in. Once we find out more info, you'll be the first to know, so keep your eyes peeled.
