Microsoft has revealed that any Windows 10 Insider will be able get a free copy of the operating system when it launches on July 29th.
The changes were first highlighted by Microsoft’s Gabe Aul in a recent blog post, who also stated that the Insider program will continue after Windows 10 becomes final.
Aul said in the blog post: “Windows Insiders running the Windows 10 Insider Preview (Home and Pro editions) with their registered MSA connected to their PC will receive the final release build of Windows 10 starting on July 29th.
"This will come as just another flight. I’ve gotten a lot of questions from Windows Insiders about how this will work if they clean installed from ISO.
“As long as you are running an Insider Preview build and connected with the MSA you used to register, you will receive the Windows 10 final release build. Once you have successfully installed this build, you will also be able to clean install on that PC from final media if you want to start over fresh.”
Aul also confirmed on Twitter that no money will be spent on the upgrade for any Windows 10 Insider.
Microsoft has already announced various Windows 10 editions tailored for different customers, including Windows 10 Mobile, Windows 10 Pro edition and Windows 10 Home edition.
This news comes after Microsoft revealed plans to have one billion Windows 10 devices by 2018.
