    Cool Ps4 hacked..

it's been a long time,, I wanted to post this.. but saw fit to post it here in off topic..

the ps4 has seemingly been hacked to run linux..

    https://www.yahoo.com/tech/hackers-p...193235093.html

A video of the exploit in action can be seen below..

And here is a link to the original source.. a group called FailOverflow..

    https://fail0verflow.com/blog/2015/c...ner-notes.html

I believe a version of the exploit can be downloaded there. but it still needs a few tweeks before it will be really useful.

    Farewell , SP.

Hopefully, we will see some projects other than Linux on the PS4... The removal of Linux sparked the PS3 hacking boom, which had SONY ling about being hacked whilst they took down the network to build a new firmware.

I only bought my PS4 for ShenmueIII, which I've already pre-ordered for December 2017... So hopefully Dreamcast emulation will be in the near future.

Hmm, if things don't get way out of hand like they did with the PS3 hacking scene, it could turn into a great emulation box in the same way that the original Xbox was.

Port mature emulators to PS4, add Vita sync.

Linux on PS4? Yes please, I've barely touched mine since I got it (I have the MGS5 limited edition one). I still remember the days when the PS3 could run it before old Sony stopped that with the v3.21 firmware update.

Hey, well you know I'll always be drifting in and out of here; whether its checking things out or responding to the rare post report (yeah, I get few these days). Gotta stop the spammers!

Yes, I used to run Linux on PS3 and I would also love to be able to still run Linux on all the latest PS's. I can't understand why Sony stopped it.

Because SONY did not want their console being open, which they learnt it was a mistake with the PS3 when the console was fully hacked. They didn't make that mistake with the PS4, however there are ways of obtaining Linux.
