Some great retro news today:

[*]
There just hasn't been enough nostalgia-based attempts at throwback consoles yet it seems, as not only is Atari throwing their hat back into the ring, but their 80's rival Intellivision is, as well. Tommy Tallarico, a video game music composer, bought the rights to the Intellivision, and is also now the president of Intellivision Entertainment, which will be spearheading a new release of a new system that can play inexpensive new 2D games, and all the old original Intellivision titles. There will be 10 games at launch for the yet unnamed system, which will be released on October 1st. More details will follow in the coming months. Long-time industry workers, such as Bill Fisher, Emily Rosenthal, and Steve Roney will be working in the project as well, who were involved with the Intellivision when it originally released in the early 1980's.

Our target is the non-gamer, the family. We want simplicity. There is no system where young and old and non-gamers can play together in the home. People play on mobile, but it is still a very solitary experience.
