Fans may have loved Captain Marvel, but the superhero film received one distinction it might not have wanted: the most mistakes in any film this year. Captain Marvel was released in March 2019 and introduced audiences to Carol Danvers/Captain Marvel, played by Brie Larson. Ironically, the movie was shot after the final Avengers film, Avengers: Endgame, even though it came it out a month earlier. As Avengers: Endgame also features Captain Marvel, this put Larson and filmmakers in the unique position of figuring out the character before they'd seen or filmed her origin story.
However, it ended up working out. Both Avengers: Endgame and Captain Marvel did well at the box office, and fans generally enjoyed the role Carol Danvers played in both. Both movies coming out so close together allowed fans to get to know the character well in a short period of time. It also gave Captain Marvel the chance to interact with heroes like Captain America and Iron Man, who may be done with their time in the MCU. Like Black Panther, Captain Marvel provides a bridge between the Infinity Saga and what Marvel has planned next.
