Japanesse Hardware Sales: July 14th - July 20th, 2008

New console sales data for Japan today are in as follows:


Playstation Portable: 74,024
Nintendo DS Lite: 54,531
Nintendo Wii: 40,803
Playstation 3: 11,253
Playstation 2: 9,535
Xbox 360: 4,208


PSP is still on top of the charts, experiencing a big rise by 17,026 units. The DS Lite comes next, up 5,991. 3rd is the Wii, down 965. PS3 is 4th place, down by 1,205. PS2 is next up, reduced by 870. Last in line is the Xbox 360, up 401.

Excellent numbers for the PSP. Continued domination and a significant boost over last weeks sales is good news. Although we're in a slow period in North America regarding the PSP, I never want to see the PSP die and fade out.

I hope the PSP continues strongly.

Cant argue with you on that one, but at least you can do a lot more with the PSP, not just play games.
and the tables have turned. PSP's been outselling DS for awhile, it still shows that the PSP is a commercial success and is still selling well.
