Default Having problems formatting my memory stick

    Hi there,

I have just recently bought a 2GB Sony memory stick to replace my 1GB one but I am unable to format the 2GB stick in the PSP. I tried it a number of times in the card reader on the PC but this also failed, I did get it to format once in my PSP after it has failed in the PC which I thought was odd and I copied some data onto it and it just froze when I went to browse the contents on the PSP so i was back to sqaure one again.

The strange thing is I also have a third 1GB stick that I bought for a friend and that has the same problems.
I've spent ages reading forums etc and alot of people seem to say that formatting it in the card reader is the best way to do it.
Is there anything else I could try or would you say its just that I happen to have 2 memory sticks that are faulty.

Thanks for your time, any suggestions would be appreciated

Also forgot to say I get this error message 'format failed 8022008B' or it will will just come back and say there is no memory stick inserted.
I've tried these on a mates PSP and I get the same results.
I'm assuming the Sony cards just suck but if anybody has a better explanation then please post.
I know there are other posts similar to this one but I cant seem to find one with replies

    Thanks for your time

Found out from taking my memory stick into work and running some tests on it in the lab that it was as dead as it could get.
Getting a replacement 2GB stick so I'm happy

Just got a brand new PSP (white) with a 512 mem stick.
Went to format the stick and i got an error message
Sounds like a dead stick to me - a lot of the ones on eBay are fakes and this kind of thing happens.
