4. Doom
3. Diablo
2. Civilization IV (Great series overall, IV is turn-based strategy perfection)
1. Age of Empires (all three seemed to be overlooked by gaming press for greatness.)

2 Any good SNES emulator
1 Grandia 2 (by far)

1 baldurs gate 2 +throne of baal
2 system shock 2 (I think it's one of the most underrated FPS's ever)
3 warcraft 2
4 Ultima worlds of adventure: Martian Dreams (the reason I really want a dos emulator with keyboard support)
5 any 'tycoon' game especally rollercoaster tycoon

1. Colossal Cave (one of the first games ON the PC and the granddaddy of Infocom text adventures)
2. Wolfenstein 3D (the granddaddy of FPS)
3. Kings Quest 1 (the granddaddy of modern full-graphic adventure games)
4. Nethack (granddaddy of graphic RPGs and has been ported to almost EVERY hardware platform in existance)
5. Console and computer system emulators

You have to give credit where the great "firsts" have put us today as well as recognize those programs that keep classic games and the computer systems they were played on alive.

2. acendency ( best dos game ever, you had to build your planet then build ship then explore the galexy finding newplants to live on traveling threw starlines, turned base stragagy.)
3. starcraft
4. doom
5. pong ( common its still fun today!)
