Default Windows 7 Aiming for 15 Second Boot Times?

    via Gizmodo US

To be fair, Microsoft hasn't come out and said that their goal is to have Windows 7 boot in 15 seconds. But they have said this:

For Windows 7, a top goal is to significantly increase the number of systems that experience very good boot times. In the lab, a very good system is one that boots in under 15 seconds.

So it looks like 15 seconds may be an internal goal that Microsoft knows better than to announce just yet—for decent systems, at least.

My pc isn't that new and boots XP to a usable state in about 25-30.

Not a huge difference if they're talking about on more modern hardware than mine (athlon xp x2 3800+, 2gb).

My PC (4GB Ram\Core2 Quad @ 2.40GHz\Windows Vista) Takes about 25-30 Seconds to boot (I Count from the time when Windows Logo shows to The Desktop area shows)... XP Would go shorter considering my old vaio (Pentium 4 @ 1.70GHZ\512MB Ram\XP) takes about 55sec - 1m 10sec

I was counting from pressing the power button to the PC being usable (finished loading things after login).
