    Post [WIP] Some Infos About Age of Nations- Full Release

    hi all,
    this is just to notify about the new progress i've been able to do since my last post in the same thread.

    First, the script file size: :humped:


    I won't release any Demo version.I think the game have considerly improved, and its time now to set up some campaigns for real playing.


    What remains to do:

    • Add Some Ai Features
    • Add Ballista Units.i've recently got the sprites.
    • Create some scenarios for campaign play
    • Add Save/load Feature
    • Clean Some Bugs, of course
    • Add Some features and Taunts Sounds for units, just for fun.
    • Clean The code and add Some comments, then if some coders are interested, they can understand the code quickly and make their own Mods.



    What have been made since:


    Concerning Ai:
    On this fact, i'm really proud of the work...Think i'm really going towards an real Ai system..Ai Units are really independant.They Collect ressources they need for upgrade, their create their own soldiers and make them stand ground.Ai Peasants know how and when they have to repair any damaged building.
    Virtual keyboard will be used to text some messages to your Opponent, and pay tributes.


    Concerning Natural Ressources:

    There's no worry about it.Natural ressources are quite infinite.It regenerates automatically.


    Concernig Units:

    I've planned to add ballista units for player's Civilization.Also, the important fact is that all type of units are improving depending on the current Age.When you upgrade, for instance, units move faster, work faster, and so on and so forth.This is the same for Ai Units.


    Gameplay:

    This is just about sounds.I've add a music Playlist, and it gives a nice look to the game.Only remains to find some taunts sounds for units, and add'em.

    Now here is some sreenshots:










    Release:
    I haven't planned any date for this full release.it will take the time it needs.But i'll do my best to provide to the community something really interesting.

    I still can't believe the speed of progress you have made, this is truly THE best Lua App... Finally, the PSP gets a playable RTS.

    are you going to add mod support?
    that would be a cool feature as well

    Edit:
    nevermind, i just seen the last point on mods
    mod support will be awesome for this
    (Starcraft Anyone?)

    oh, for map making
    are you gonna make an editor where everything is point and click on the computer? (kinda like the starcraft editor)
    if so, that would be every perfect for this game

    @Wolfpack: You've given me nice ideas, and i can't deny it will be nice, and very doable..

    yeah this is looking good. do you think you can try and add like a mulitiplay option that be really cool if you could. do I need Lua player to play it if so wot the best one to use on 4.01m33-2

    Hi All,

    I've Ended With the Tribute System.

    Tributes: You Can pay at Any time a ttribute of Ressources of your choice to your Opponent.It Increases your Diplomacy, and decreases your ressources :PC:

    Screenshots:

    First I've included The System Message Function.Will be used to notify the player about importants events:



    Here is The Keyboard Used to pay ressources( i've removed the Virtual One i've coded by my own)


    Now, example..how to tribute Gold.


    You receive a confirmation:


    And The Opponent will respond to any tribute you pay




    That's all for today, haven't got enough time to add new things.

    Bêta Testing it is possible.Just PM.

    ummm what about a POPs version of the PS1 game: Warcraft 2 the dark sagas? i put that on my psp a while back it was pretty fun.

    anywho great work, ill actually try the game once you have everything done, looks spectacular!

    A small change I think you should make is to but a 1px stroke on the health bars. This would prevent units standing next to each other from appearing to have 1 giant health bar.

    I see you've also switched to PGE. Good plan.

    The map is being shown behind the game sprites

    It's looking great though man.
