Level-5's big console RPG White Knight Chronicle is at long last being readied for a final release. The latest issue of Famitsu reports that Sony is planning a December 25 Japanese release for the game, making for a potentially grand Christmas/New Years gift for Japanese PS3 owners.

Akihiro Hino, president of Level-5, shared a few thoughts on the game with the magazine. According to Hino, White Knight is Level-5's biggest production yet. It's a game that tackles three elements, he said: the PlayStation 3 hardware, a large RPG, and a third element which he's not yet willing to discuss.

While speaking only in vague terms, he said that this third element is something that is indicative of the PS3. Details will be shared in the near future.

Unfortunately, Hino wouldn't say for sure if White Knight will be playable at October's Tokyo Game Show. He did promise that attendees to the public game event would be able to "experience" it in some fashion, and left it at that.

We'll be sure and experience it as best we can and deliver a full report in early October.
