Thumbs down F355 Challenge is now offline

    News From Dreamcast Scene

A Depressing day for all dc online players F355 Challenge Passione Rossa has officially gone offline for good. The Following are the words from the official website. ''"Notice for Terminating "F355 Challenge" network service on Dreamcast. December 29, 2005'' Thank you for your continued support on Dreamcast software "F355 Challenge". We unfortunately decided to close network service of "F355 Challenge" due to technical issue. It will no longer be available on January 16, 2006 noon (Japan time). ''We really appreciate your long-term support on this service. We hope you keep enjoying "F355 Challenge" offline mode and other SEGA titles.'' There it is, in all its sorrow. A few say a written petition is absolutely necessary. “What do YOU think?”

Check it out at Dreamcast Scene

Sad... It's a common problem with online games for DC. If people could only run their own server. Or could recreate it, somehow.

It was bound to happen at some point, here's hoping Sega release a Xbox or Xbox 360 version, then we can all enjoy it on Xbox live.

I think that guys who can mantain their own server should try to contact sega and ask the needed software to open a F355 server.
They probably won't accept but we can try anyway...

Default I own a server....There is hope yet!

I own a server the url is http://dbzpc.no-ip.info
I am absolutely willing to run a server for the dreamcasts to connect to. I sent sega's Dreamcast support team the following message:
Please at least hear me out before you send me an automated response. When the Dreamcast first came out, I was the first one to (save up) and buy it. I was incredibly sad to see Sega officially put all of their servers offline. However, I am currently studying to become an IT Server Administrator. I run several servers at my school, and I was wondering if there was any kind of way to run my own dreamcast server. To play phantasy star online, unreal tournament, etc. All I need is the software, and from there I will be able to figure it out. Please consider giving back to all your loyal fans who bought all of your systems throughout the ages, and especially the owners of Sega's last console, the Dreamcast. I sincerely hope, along with the whole Dreamcast community (yes there still is a whole dreamcast community), that you will consider giving back to your loyal fans. Thank you for your time.
