    Default Psp Umd Drive

I have a PSP-1003 which I bought for my son. I want to know how to fix the UMD Drive, which is not working?
I have a round flashing icon at the lower right corner which seems to flash all the time? If I put in a UMD disc it spins for a few sec's and then stops? The icon flash's all the time.
This is my first post and I admit I should scan through the forum for the answer but I need to send in two posts so that I can send a PM.

    Thanks and Hi to All

To me, it seems like your UMD drive is shot.

    What's your Firmware version?

I think it has one of the latest Firmware's installed. I need to find someone local to me to downgrade it. I know there is someone on here near me but I dont have enough post's to send him a message.
    Thanks

Well I managed to PM the guy in my area but no response yet. I live in the UK Norfolk area and am looking for someone local to help install HB etc. I have firmware version 5.02, with my UMD out of action it makes sense to get HB installed. If there are peep's out there who can help, please get in touch or PM me.
