No offense to everyone, but why "should" Sony make their console open source? I'm sure they would if they weren't making money off of commercial games and other software. They have a right to protect what they make money off of. If they didn't do commercial games and software of course they'd make an "open" handheld. That's not the the business they're in though.

well, with the things like xna and the apple app store sony may find their dictatorship over what they want us to see vanish ... its akin to the riaa not getting on the digital boat when it first started happening
