    Default DSDoom

    Not sure if it's common knowledge but a guy called B@ndit released a modded version of DSDoom that can allows you to select WAD files rather than just play the one. He also came up with a way of modding WAD files so that you can play them on DSDoom.
    If anyone knows what he did to be able to play WADs on DSDoom I would be interested in hearing.

    I won't share a direct link to his post as it's full of WAREZ (The WAD files for Doom 1, Doom 2, TNT and Plutonia, I'm pretty sure I'd be scorned for sharing those).

    Installation Guide from lolmasta_again

    After downloading the 2 parts, extract them into a folder inside your hard drive. You should have a folder named data.
    Here is the folder’s structure:
    data>Game Menu.nds
    data>dsdoom
    data>dsdoom>(Loads of folders, which are the wad’s names)
    data>dsdoom>prboom.cfg
    data>dsdoom>prboom.wad
    data>dsdoom>wadsel.ini
    data>dsdoom>Tranmap.dat
    After making sure you have these, copy the whole data folder in the root of your flashcard.

    Adding extra WADs
    First, you need to have the wad…
    For the example, we’ll use the file “whatever.wad”.
    Go to data>dsdoom and make a new folder. Name the folder as you have named the wad (So for the example, the folder is going to be named whatever).
    Inside the folder, put your wad.

    Now open
    data>dsdoom>wadsel.ini
    with Notepad or whatever program you use for text editing.

    Now, go to the bottom and add this:

    [Whatever]
    savpath = Whatever/
    wad = Whatever/ Whatever.wad

    Don’t forget to edit whatever to the name that your wad has
    Make sure there’s an empty line between the wads you’ve added into the file.

    And now, random analysis

    [Whatever] <- Name that will show up in the wad selection menu
    savpath = Whatever/ <- Folder that your saves will be saved
    wad = Whatever/ Whatever.wad <- Wad path

    * If you download the version above this guide (the one that says "DSdoom Emulator:You can 40 Game wads in the wadsel.ini write"), then instead of
    data>Game Menu.nds
    it will be
    data>dsdoom>dsdoom.nds

    Still releated, there is an unofficial fan forum for DsDoom that has a few WADs available.

    One last thing, how do I go about running the prboom server? What setting do I need on my DS and Laptop to connect and play online?

    I had a tutorial for this here:

    http://files.frashii.com/~sp00nz/Doom/

    But since then the server got formatted or something, and I need to re-build the page. Will eventually get around to it.

    Thankx for the post. I hope PrBOOM (Doom) has a future on the DS, not to mention Wii, but things are not looking good. :/

    I tried it, it's a great homebrew. It works very well, you can save and look at the map on the touch screen.
    But very unfonfortable to play. I was hopping someday an update is made so you can like Metroid Prime: Hunters...

    Don't hold your breathe...

    ...last I talked to the author, he sounded pretty much done with this port. Seems to always be the same story.

    I'm hoping that the Wii takes after the Wiz at least and gets its self a port ZDOOM.

    First of all, everything I've posted is legal. Secondly, if you'd bothered to look through the first download, you may have noticed that those are place holder files that actually contain no information and can't be played.:thumbup:
