With thousands of fans throughout the day cheering him on at the Samsung Experience in New York City's Time Warner Center this past Saturday, WCG Ultimate Gamer runner-up Robert Paz spent over six consecutive hours on his ion drums to set a Guinness World Record for Rock Band 2. Amassing well over ten and a half million points he now holds the Official Guinness World Record for the 'Highest Aggregate Score in all Songs of Rock Band 2.' His achievement will be chronicled in the Guinness World Records 2010 Gamer's Edition.

"Rob 'ProdigyX' Paz is truly living up to his gamer tag, and today he proved that statement by doing something nobody has ever done before," said Aaron Smolick, Director of Marketing for World Cyber Games. "The WCG's year-long events, including the National Final, are perfect venues to showcase gaming at the highest level and amaze fan with never before scene gaming action."

The record attempt was part of the US Invitational held by World Cyber Games (WCG / www.wcg.com/usa), the premier international video games competition. The event - formerly the US Open - featured intense competition throughout the weekend in seven WCG Official Titles on Xbox 360 and PC including Gears of War 2 (Xbox 360), Guitar Hero: World Tour (Xbox 360), Virtua Fighter? 5 (Xbox 360), FIFA 09 (Xbox 360), CounterStrike 1.6 (PC), StarCraft: Brood War (PC) and Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne (PC). Winners are automatically invited to the WCG USA 2009 National Final held in New York City's Javits Center in conjunction with The New York Anime Festival this September 25 through 27.

Over the weekend, Robert also took part of an exclusive mini-reunion of the top six WCG Ultimate Gamers hosted by Joel Gourdin at the Samsung Experience. This video interview will be available on www.samsung.com/newsroom at the end of the week.
