Avanquest Software Publishing, a leading consumer software and games publisher, is soon to release Junior Classic Games on Nintendo DS, a fun and lively collection of games to help children aged 4-9 years old develop memory, logic and problem-solving skills. Junior Classic Games takes an engaging approach to promote learning and education set in an entertaining and vibrant 'Animal World.'

Junior Classic Games features 30 activities in several categories including Music, Memory, Observation, Letter and Puzzle with different difficulty levels in order to cater for all abilities and ages. In the Music Games category children learn about timing and rhythm rewarding accuracy with points. For example, the Lemur Dance game requires players to dance alongside an energetic lemur, using the stylus to touch musical notes in time with the tune as they move down the screen.

The Memory Games test how much players can remember in order to complete certain challenges. For example, users can teach Tom the cricket to count by remembering which numbered cards match certain pictures. Observation Games check that children are paying attention to what is happening. In the Greedy Anteater challenge, players must keep a sharp look out and use the stylus to catch as many ants as possible for Dan the anteater, whilst also avoiding the stinging wasps.

Other categories include Letter Games, which enable children to practice the alphabet. In the A.B.C challenge players must drag letters to a grid in order to teach Bart the elephant his ABCs. Puzzle Games feature challenges such as a game of solitaire against Lee the panda, where the stylus is used to drag pegs around a board.

Junior Classic Games features a medal reward system upon the completion of challenges to keep children motivated and entertained. There are over 90 medals to collect and players can view their high scores by clicking on the trophy icon. Gold, silver and bronze medals are all awarded depending on how successfully games are completed.
