Default Best Way to Clean DC Lens

Following advice I got on this forum, I got a lens cleaner. I just stopped and read the instructions and found a warning.
"Warning: Not to be used with X-Box or any other gaming system."

Before I go ahead and do this I thought I'd get a second opinion. Is there good reason for the warning? I can't think of anything other than possible liability claims on busted consoles.

The DC lens is so easy to get to, you'd probably don't need a specific cleaner. It'd be OK to do it with a cotton bud or small soft paint brush if you're just dusting down.

If you want to clean it more thoroughly, some Isopropyl Alcohol or other alcohol based solution on a cotton bud should do as it will evaporate clean.

I've never had a problem using such a lens cleaner with the Dreamcast (or else I wouldn't have recommended it).

At best, it'll fix your problem. At worst, it won't do anything. It shouldn't cause any damage to the console.

Thanks BlueCrab. I used the cleaner and now I'm playing Sonic Adventure. And the DreamCast marches on.
