DICE mentioned this Thursday; PC gamers will begin their Bad Company 2 beta on Jan. 28. It had been delayed because of the popularity of the PS3 beta. The beta will test vehicle combat on a snow map
The beta runs from Jan. 28 to Feb. 25 and will feature the Port Valdez map in the snow. Says DICE:
The battle for Port Valdez is fought alongside the waterline towards a great oil industrial landscape in the Alaskan mountains. Using basically everything they've got the Russian forces are launching an airborne assault to knock out the oil industries in the area. In their arsenal there are Main Battle Tanks as well as fast-moving Quad Bikes and mobile armored AA. It's a vehicle focused battle, but with plenty of infantry combat.
To get in, check back to the Bad Company 2 beta page "closer to the beta launch date" to get download instructions. DICE was no more specific than that. Oh, and, pre-order the full game for access. While they're working on getting other retailers involved in offering beta keys for preordering, the EA Store and GameStop are definitely confirmed.
