    ps3 PS3 Mass Effect 2 - EA offers 'no comment'

    If EA is planning to release a PS3 version of Mass Effect 2, it's keeping schtum.

    CVG checked in with the publisher this afternoon to ask if it was keen on releasing a PS3 version of the game, and all we got was a short, sharp: "No comment on that one." Delivered in a polite manner, we may add.

    The comment comes after Polish site Kikoo claimed that there is some source code of the PC version of the game that suggests a PS3 iteration has been created.

    So the PS3 version's not officially alive, but it's not officially dead. Doesn't do anything for the anxiety, hey PS3 fans?

    Found the text in there myself

    [WwiseToUE3PlatformMap]
    Windows=1
    PS3=8
    Xbox360=4

    Dunno what its for but shows the PS3 has been either worked on or is being worked on.

    It is for PS3, as I was in Future Shop and read the ad it read, 360/PS3/PC.

    "Seeking to clarify the situation, a statement on BioWare's forums reads:

    The Unreal Engine is cross platform, hence the PS3 code. This was brought up back in Mass Effect 1 days as well.

    Mass Effect is for the PC and Xbox 360. LOCKDOWN!

    Lockdown indeed. If you check the code for other Unreal Engine games - like Gears of War - you'll find the same thing.

    Nothing to see here, people".

    I was thinking the same thing, its reference to the unreal engine being cross platform
