DoDonPachi Dai Ou Jou Black Label EXTRA, the Xbox 360 port by developer 5pb of Cave's arcade bullet hell shooter, was originally announced for Christmas Day 2008. Then it was delayed.
Then it was released the following February, buggy. 5pb's port was so buggy that shipments of the game were halted.
The company also struggled with a port of another Cave arcade title, Ketsui. (No wonder Cave began porting games to the Xbox 360 itself instead of farming out the work to 5pb!)
It was revealed that 5pb had copied the source code from the PS2 version of DoDonPachi Dai Ou Jou. According to 5pb, "We've confirmed that the source code from copied without permission and intentionally altered while making this title."
Now, in February 2010, 5pb still does not have a patch for the game. On the 5pb website, the company announces, "Regarding the download update for Xbox 360 title DoDonPachi Dai Ou Jou Black Label EXTRA, we were planning on making it available during January 2010, however, a technical problem has arisen and our company is currently moving forward with Microsoft to pin point a solution for this issue."
The company then once again apologized for the delay and asked customers for a little more time to rectify the problem.
5pb's port was originally supposed to be out in late 2008. It's 2010. This is embarrassing.
