The PlayStation family bookends this week's Media Create hardware sales chart thanks to strong sales of Biohazard 5 Alternative Edition and God Eater, as well as dwindling sales of the PlayStation 2 and PSPgo.
Sony's PSP and PlayStation 3 secure spots one and two on this week's Japanese hardware chart, each platform giving a bit of a boost from newly released games. But the race was close, with the Wii breathing down the PS3's neck, less than 500 units separating the two in the battle for second place.
As is the norm, it's the Nintendo DS that continues to sell best as a platform, another 44,000-plus dual screen handhelds sold across its three variations. Here's how the contest worked out for the week of February 15 to 21 in Japan.
  • PSP - 32,796
  • PlayStation 3 - 32,130
  • Wii - 31,652
  • Nintendo DSi LL - 24,388
  • Nintendo DSi - 15,380
  • Nintendo DS Lite - 5,053
  • Xbox 360 - 2,453
  • PlayStation 2 - 1,883
  • PSP go - 1,371
