Sorry to say but getting rid of all political parties would again be called communism, but yeah we do need to get rid of the corrupt self obsessed politicians because their influence spreads like a virus to future political generations.
Communism has absolutely nothing at all to do with political parties, it is a social structure. Abolishing political parties would not usher in communism in the slightest, that is, unless a candidate ran on a communist platform to get elected and the people elected them. But enough of the labels. Republican, Democrat, Communist, Libertarian, anything. Get rid of these dividers and get back to holding individuals responsible for their **** ups, rather than their spineless hiding behind political parties.
I like both of these ideas to some extent, but the first is a threat to freedom of assembly. I'd be happier just eliminating political party names from ballots, getting rid of the Debate Commission, and removing the special privileges afforded to big parties (e.g. if an independent or third party needs 83,000 signatures or something to get on the ballot each election, then the Republicrats should also have to collect that many or not be allowed on the ballot, period).
No complaints about the second suggestion.
My general response to the question, though, is minarchism. Make the government as small as possible (how small that is exactly stays open to debate, but it's clearly less than 5% of the behemoth we have today) in scope, influence, and budget.
