There was once a time when the announcement of a fourth iteration of the iPhone this summer was an inevitable as a disappointingly rainy British summer. Then the lack of any hint of the new device at last week’s OS4 launch got people thinking – could Apple be waiting for 2011 to launch its next-gen iPhone?
Not so, according to new rumours from Gizmodo.
The site claims that Apple has booked The Yerba Buena Center for Arts in San Francisco on June 22nd – the same venue it has used to reveal all three of its existing iPhone models.
Though we know plenty about the next generation of the iPhone OS, nothing is yet known of the iPhone 4. A touch sensitive case, much like as is seen with the Magic Mouse, has been rumoured, as has a removable battery, video chat and a proper 16:9 widescreen.
The rumours come just as Apple has confirmed a one-month delay to the international launch of the iPad, meaning UK consumers won’t be able to get their hands on the device until the end of May.
