R4iv1.4 Gold card For The DSi XL Problems

I hope some one can help me please, I have just bought the new R4iV1.4for the DSi XL .I have been to the gold site and downloaded the R4i English version V1.32b, I have loaded every thing on to my micro card put it in the ds and it doesn’t come up on the menu at the bottom of the screen no R4 card showing.
When I put my old R4i-SDHC card that I used in my Dsi light that I traded in for the XL version, it shows up in the menu at the bottom of the screen and when I press i it comes up with an error message.I got the Gold R4V1.4 for the Dsi.xl from the site at the site at the top of your page,please help.

I suggest getting a better dsi flashcart such as m3i zero/acecard 2i
