Palm unveiled its webOS roadmap in more detail over the weekend at a developer day in California.
According to Engadget, upcoming features include direct API access to the microphone and camera - something that has been on developer wish lists since the webOS was first unveiled.
There will also be 'media indexer', a 'Mojo Core' to allow speedier conversion of web apps into webOS apps, new security and cryptography measures and a revamped App Catalog UI.
Developers should be getting their hands on the updated features in the autumn, though the exact timeline will surely depend on Palm's future at a corporate level - the latest reports link Lenovo with a bid for the beleagured handset maker.
