Excalibur Publishing Ltd is due to release ‘Theatre of War 2: Kursk’ to the market on August 20th. Get stuck in to the historic Battle of Kursk which latsted for 49 days and was one of the most crucial conflicts of the WWII between Germany’s Grossdeutschland and the Soviet Red Army.

Step into the last armoured strategic offensive the Germans were able to mount in the east and whose defeat resulted in giving the Red Army the strategic initiative for the rest of the war. You take over the role of either the Russian or German battle group commander. Acting under direct orders of division commanders Ivan Chistyakov or Walter Hoernlein, players will control their troops in historical scenarios on precisely reconstructed authentic battlefields

Launch Operation Citadel representing the German “Grossdeutschland Kampftruppe” or choose to start “Fiery Salient” with the forces of the Soviet 6th Guards and 1st Tank Army. Each of these campaigns consists of up to 9 major battles putting the player in charge of one of these units. With each solidier having a unique personality and specific characteristics, it’s down to you as the player to carefully plan and select your force before each battle.
