UKIE and the wider games industry have put a lot of effort into getting a bit of gaming into Government – and the efforts have seemingly been successful with confirmation that the love for video gaming has spread to the very top of UK politics.
When not tied up with maintaining amicable discourse with coalition partners The Liberal Democrats or treading the treacherous path of public spending cuts, Prime Minister David Cameron likes nothing more than spending some time with cult iPhone hit Angry Birds.
“The Prime Minister is a huge Angry Birds fan and has paid for the full game. Times are a changin',” UK games veteran Andy Payne stated via Twitter. “He absolutely loves it. Wants to know what other top games he should get for his iPad. Compiling a list for him.”
In addition, Payne added that secretary of state for culture, Olympics, media and sport Jeremy Hunt “is looking forward to the London Games Festival and believes in our industry”.
The news comes just a day after deputy PM Nick Clegg was snapped taking part in a Wii competition at the Liberal Democrat Party Conference.
