Legendary PC urban planning title Sim City set to make a portable debut on the DS

Sim City, the game which catapulted Will Wright to games industry megastardom, is coming to the Nintendo DS.

Which, if you think about, makes eminently good sense, as the DS's touch-screen is perfectly suited to constructing virtual towns building by building and road by road.

Although the prospect of having your own virtual world in the palm of your hand is a mouth-watering one, you'll have to exercise a bit of patience, as details are distinctly sketchy at this stage. Although EA has said that the game will arrive in "Winter 2006/2007" -- so it could, possibly, arrive in time for Christmas. And the game will be based on the PC title Sim City 3000.
