THQ seems pleased with the uptake of its new Wii drawing tablet device, uDraw, as CEO Brian Ferrell says the peripheral is living up to commercial expectations.

"We are working diligently to try and [beat forecasts] based on very significant sell-through we've seen in the first two weeks," said Farrell at last night's Credit Suisse Group Technology Conference (via Gamasutra).

uDraw is priced at $69.99, and UK retailer GAME is listing it for £49.99, although a release date on this side of the pond has yet to be confirmed.

Last month, THQ upped uDraw unit production from 1 million to 1.3 million after retailers reacted favourably to the product, and Farrell now says he's "very, very pleased with the significant launch of this great new franchise for THQ."

Farrell did not reveal any exact sales figures.

Positive early reaction for the device from investors saw THQ enjoy a hike in share prices by a reported 21 percent last month.
