ps3 Geohot Releases 3.55 Jailbreak and Signing Tool for PlayStation 3 - Homebrew only

Yesterday, we posted the news and video of Geohot jailbreaking 3.55 firmware and now, he has released the jailbreak. This works for homebrew only.

    it's jailbreak time
open the zip, you know how to install
    3.55 only
would be pirates, don't waste your time
do not mirror file, link to geohot.com
here is the package from the video
no donations accepted right now, don't get scammed

    old homebrew will not work
new homebrew signing tools coming soon...

Note: Current pkgs (homebrew) will not install/run as they will need to be signed for 3.55. Only his "HELLO WORLD" will work...at the moment. So please be patient.

Extract and copy the update file — PS3UPDAT.PUP — to /PS3/UPDATE on a USB mass storage device. Connect that device to your PS3 and flash it through Settings -> System Update.

If you installed KaKaRoTo-created PUPs, this will not work. You will need to go back to OFW 3.55.

    *UPDATE 1/9/11*
Geohot has released the signing tools...

    homebrew signing tools
    don't mirror
    linux and windows
make_self_npdrm makes valid NPDRM selfs from elfs
it does not contain any info on decrypting or removing NPDRM
NPDRM is required for interoperability of our homebrew applications
package_finalize turns your debug packages into psuedoretail packages
psuedoretail packages install on a geohot jailbroken PS3

i'm excited to see what you will create
    open source SDK @ PSL1GHT

Source code is now available at https://github.com/geohot/ps3publictools

This allows you to sign homebrew .pkgs. All this is legal as was made with PSL1GHT which is an open source SDK.

Does anyone know what this adds to 3.55? The hello world self worked on 3.55 ofw. Plus if we had a way to sign homebrew we wouldn't need a CFW to only run homebrew. I would test this, but need 3.41 for now.

I may be downloading this later, just to jailbreak my slim...

But I think I may only update my fat PS3 to 3.55, because it's long overdue an update. Plus I haven't used any of the old homebrew, so the new signing tools may come in handy
