ArenaNet announces monster Guild Wars event

Guild Wars developer ArenaNet is going preview bonkers at the end of the month with a massive event to preview Nightfall, its latest chapter in the MMOG saga.

Running from September 22 (07:01pm GMT) to September 25 (6:59am GMT), the preview event is open to every man, woman, cat, dog and amoeba in the world who'd like to play. Participants will experience previews of Nightfall's new environments, missions and battle arenas. In addition, players will get to create Nightfall-specific characters from the six core professions as well as the two new Nightfall professions, the Dervish and the Paragon, and to try out new Nightfall skills

And there's more: so we're told, "The entire Istani province of the new realm Elona will be open for player exploration, and players will be able to view the first Nightfall in-game cinematics. In addition, two new arenas will make their debut, the Sunspear Arena and Churranu Island."

On top of all that lot, apparently a number of European gaming magazines are to feature an access key for an exclusive, in-game Gray Giant miniature: "The Gray Giant will be useable during the World Preview Event, and then may be reactivated with a Guild Wars Nightfall account upon release."
