SCEE has just confirmed that it will indeed release the 24 inch 3D display that it announced for North America at E3 this year, only it hasn't quite retained the bargain appeal of the US offering.

The platform confirmed that the display will launch in EU in Autumn for 499 Euros - which is as good as £436 - with two pairs of glasses. It made no mention of any bundled game. The press conference room went quiet.

Let's compare that to US; they will get the TV with admittedly only one pair of glasses, and a copy of Motorstorm Apocalypse for $499. Slap that figure into a currency converter and it'll spit out £303.

Rip-off-Britain in full effect then. And with that price you'd probably do better to look around - there are other small-size 3D displays already available for less.

Sony reconfirmed that the 24 inch TV will also come with 'Simulview' functionality - a feature that lets two people (wearing the 3D glasses) to see two completely different views (in 2D) at the same time, eradicating the need to play two-player games in split-screen.
