Likely spurred on by the success of Nintendo's own Brain Training games, Majesco has announced the development of two new games designed to improve basic thinking skills and reaction time. Both Brain Boost: Beta Wave and Brain Boost: Gamma Wave are being developed under the consultation of Dr. Makoto Shichida, creator of the Right Brain Development Theory.

"Each Brain Boost game offers a completely different set of fun, yet challenging, brain training problems that are designed to enhance your mental acuity," said Ken Gold, vice president of Majesco. "We believe a growing number of consumers are looking for more diversified game play experiences and the Brain Boost games will help attract a new audience to the category."

Each of these games focuses on improving memory, concentration, and logical reasoning through increasingly difficult exercises in speed and accuracy. Brain Boost: Beta Wave focuses on stimulating parts of the right frontal lobe often associated with active concentration and busy thinking. Games included in Brain Boost: Beta Wave include Find a Match, Shape Recognition, Addition, Remember Sequence, and Moving Dots.

Brain Boost: Gamma Wave, on the other hand, focuses more on activities designed to stimulate higher mental activity, including perception and problem solving. Brain Boost: Gamma Wave includes training games for remembering Circumstances, Faces, Images, Numbers, and Colors.

Developed by Interchannel-Holon, both Brain Boost: Beta Wave and Brain Boost: Gamma Wave are scheduled to ship in November for a suggested price of $19.99.
