    Well at 8:00 pm you´ll find out. I really doubt that will be a feature on the alpha release. what do you think compression will do to the frame rate?

    Description:

    PSX-P is an emulator meant for the Sony PS1 programmed by Yoshihiro.

    The games have to be of ISO or BIN format, you can directly make the images of the games that you own without having to buy a new copy off the internet.

    What's up doc?

    In the new version of the emulator, the execution speed is still slow but this is due to the lack of dynarec (dynamic decompiler). Dark_alex should check that out pretty soon.

    We now have a playable beta in our hands and we are happy to be able to share it with you soon.

    The official release will be Sunday September 24th 2006 at 8 PM sharp.

    friday september 24? I think you meant Sunday, lol

    Oh and cso and dax compresion might only be for psp iso at the moment but who knows in the future Njismyhome did have a legitimate question. that was in the 1st advertising.

    Sweet!

    I'll be waiting though until it works on 2.80. ;o;

    what takes up a lot of space on many PS1 games is music. So compression of CD tracks to MP3 or compression of raw audio files (assuming some ps1 games use this method) well mean compression is definately a possibility.... whether that be an adaprted version of CSO, or something different - i havent a clue myself, and i think most people commenting are prob. just guessing too... whatever the case it's unlikely to have any compression support yet. (that's me guessing)

    i will probably wait till this emu has some good speed before trying it out, but it would be interesting to find out how something less 3d-engine-heavy (say, Res Evil with it's pre-rendered backdrops) is running on it.

    guess it could soon be time to dust off a few of my old ps1 games, although which cupboard they are in is a whole other matter!
