please help me, problem with my computer.

this started a couple of months ago, and its really starting to bug me. whenever i right click something on my desktop, or in a folder, or anywhere, it goes to the little hour glass thing and takes like 30 seconds for the right click menu thingy to come up, and sometimes everything just freezes up when i right click something. im running windows xp. can someone please help me???


p.s., my computers pretty fast.

it came preinstalled with the system. i do have a windows disc, but its home edition, and im running media center edition which i like a lot. any other suggestions?

sounds like you could have a possible virus, trojan or worm or spyware or something thats slowing your computer back. get an antivirus program or download spyware doctor. you COULD also defrag your computer to see if that helps. if all else fails, youre screwed, youll just have to reformat your harddrive and reinstall windows (this i actually highly recommend because everything is fresh and runs smooth) just be sure to back up files that you might wanna keep like savegames and what not.
