Swedes are the most playful users, downloading over five apps per month.
The US mobile market is the worldwide frontrunner when it comes to total Android app downloads but Europe takes the gold based on total app downloads per user, according to mobile analyst research2guidance.
The firm says Sweden is the leader with users downloading more than five apps per month, which doubles the average US user who downloads fewer than 2.5 apps each.
Other markets to beat the US for monthly app downloads include the UK, Germany, Spain, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Italy, Portugal and South Korea.
The US may be down on the monthly scale but it's not out. Overall the market is responsible for over 50 per cent of total Android Market app downloads, which is equivalent to 3.5 billion installs, according to the report.
This leaves South Korea in second with nine per cent followed by the UK, Germany and France, while Russia, Japan and China are among the most inactive app downloaders.
