If true, the device could be no.2 to Apple's iPad.
Amazon's Kindle Fire is the talk of the town and while the general consensus is positive, some believe the device won't be able to go the distance.
Digitimes says Amazon's manufacturer Quanta will has shipped between three and four million units already since last month's release.
If the sources are to be believed it's likely that Black Friday and Cyber Monday will have contributed significantly to device sales.
In a marketplace where the likes of Apple's iPad retails at $499, the Kindle Fire costs just $199, which has become the key USP for the device. Presumably that's why the device is expected to sell five million units by 2012.
In September, we reported tablet shipments for the year, which predicted Apple would ship 39.2 million units, Samsung would ship seven million and RIM would ship 1.5 million.
