Wii Startup Disc Revealed!

Joystiq reports that the disc will set up your console as can be seen in the image. This is most likely the last-minute firmware updates for the console which would make sense since were getting so many at launch. "The request is written in only English, Spanish and French, implying that the disk is region-specific." They also state the question: "but why not have the console download the update when it connects?" That doesn't make sense because what if the firmware includes updates for the networking features of the console? Or how about people that wont have internet access off the bat, or ever with the Wii? You cant make the console non-functional for people who cant connect to the internet. Either way, im glad to see them addressing issues with this disc, rather then letting them slip through the door at launch!
